The roles available

Two people discussing work

Whatever stage of your career you have already reached, with HSBC Insurance you're in a good position to achieve all your career objectives. We run four insurance practices (split between the two broad categories of Insurance and Actuaries & Consultants), which means that we cover virtually every insurance operation you can think of.

Insurance Head Office is a global division that gets involved with ventures like setting up insurance divisions overseas.
Insurance Brokers employs brokers who work in specialised areas of insurance, for example shipping, fine art, life and pensions.
HSBC Actuaries & Consultants Limited (HACL) employs actuaries and consultants within the insurance industry.
And HSBC Insurance UK, which used to be known as Corinthian, is a division dedicated to the car insurance industry.

With such a massive presence in the insurance industry, we're bound to have a role to suit your skill set. See below for some of the key roles we're recruiting for.

Consultants

Our Consultants are critical influencers of people, issues, growth and profitability. As one of this high profile team, you'll hold a portfolio of clients, and your mission will be to retain them and increase their profitability by providing cost-effective, timely, relevant and accurate information, advice and service - personally and through other specialists under your co-ordination.

The challenge is all about mutually productive relationship-building. You'll need to have the credibility to gain the client's confidence, the negotiating skills to set the right fee, and the organisational ability to issue accurate invoices promptly, all the while meeting and beating income budget targets. Ideally you'll have Corporate IFS experience or you may have developed from an HACL Development Consultant role. Either way you'll have got your FPC 1, 2, and 3, and should be working towards AFPC or Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning (particularly G60).
