What is the selection process?
Once you have completed and submitted your online application you will be sent a confirmation email. Our recruitment team will then get to work and they will keep you updated on the progress of your application. If you're successful at the initial application stage you'll be invited to attend a face-to-face interview. Offers of employment to successful applicants will be issued shortly after the face-to-face interview.

I have worked for HSBC before, can I reapply?
Yes, provided you have not been dismissed from the Bank's service under disciplinary proceedings or been made redundant within the last 36 months.

I have applied before, can I reapply?
Yes, providing six months have elapsed between the date of your original application (or, if your original application was progressed, then the date you were advised your application was unsuccessful) and the date of your new application. You can, however, apply for a different position should you believe your skills and experience are appropriate.

Do I have to be eligible to work in the UK to apply?
Yes.

Do I need any professional qualifications to apply?
Any specific professional qualifications are listed under the relevant job description. Please ensure you read this before completing your application.For all roles the minimum educational requirement is four GCSEs or equivalent, (with Maths and English at grade C or above) or a minimum of 12 months' customer service experience. Eligibility for each role is indicated when you click on it. You will be asked some brief questions prior to completing an application form.

I have a criminal record – will this stop me working for HSBC?
As we process your application, we will need to see a Criminal Records Disclosure report for you. Having a criminal record will not necessarily mean that you will not get the job. This will depend on the nature of the position you are applying for, together with the circumstances and the background of any offences.
