The agencies will record details of the search which will form part of your credit history whether or not your application for a bank account proceeds. HSBC Bank may also use credit scoring methods to assess applications for accounts. Please refer to the HSBC Bank account personal terms and conditions for further details.
To prevent crime and to verify your identity, we may exchange information (both within the UK and, where appropriate, overseas) with other members of the HSBC Group, and, where appropriate, fraud prevention and other organisations.

This information may be accessed from the UK and other countries and used by law enforcement agencies and by us and other employers (and potential employers) to prevent fraud and money laundering.
